What does it take to build a good organization? You can’t rush growth. Coach Hill says the first step is to get the opportunity. After that you must have a vision. You must have a good direction and know what you are trying to build. Once you’ve figured that out you have to convey that message to your team members.
The doubt in your head never leaves. You must tell that voice to shut up. Anything worthwhile is going to have adversity. You should deal with it all the time. People that say they don’t doubt, I think they’re lying. It’s not necessarily the climb to the top, it’s staying at the top.
The Only Thing You Have on Them is a Title. Just because you’re a leader you are just as human as your team members. You must have empathy for them but your job is not to make them happy. Your job is to make the best team possible.
